THE WAY DOGS DO
ONE-MAN-SHOW WITH CHRISTOPH DOSTAL
Based on the novel of Wolf Haas

"A smash hit!" Niederoesterr. Nachrichten
"Dostal redefines 'modern expressive dance' - leaving Nurejew in the dust."Kurier
"Dostal keeps his audience laughing, gives his all on stage and shows us a real professional at work."Wiener Neustaedter Nachrichten

A biting, hilarious, literary, full-blooded solo-ensemble dance theater performance featuring music and self-made sound effects puts a new twist on the murder mystery.

Actor and dancer Christoph Dostal took an idea that at first no one thought was feasible and turned a novel into a one-man show for the stage. To add to the challenge, he didn't choose just any novel, but a novel by the Austrian cult author Wolf Haas.

The result is a solo piece with ludicrous, lightning-fast role switching that brings the action to a head. Piercingly hilarious and viciously cruel, the choreography reveals the animal side of human nature. Video clips on the big screen feature James Bond in Vienna's Augarten park, bathing in a kiddie pool wearing a tuxedo and swim trunks. The music is just as much inspired by Heintje as by Hendrix. To say it's an evening full of surprises is an understatement.

Christoph Dostal

Born near Vienna (Austria) in 1972, Christoph Dostal studied acting at the Vienna Conservatory before winning the leading role in Wolfgang Murnberger's feature film 'For God and Country'. Dostal moved to London where in addition to his acting he trained as a dancer/choreographer at the London Contemporary Dance School. Stephen Spielberg cast him for his TV-series 'Band and Brothers', directed by Tom Hanks.
In February 2007 his one-man-show 'The Way Dogs do' debuted in Vienna. Besides touring with this show Dostal is working on his first film as a director - a documentray on the dancer Bob Curtis.
