Fwd: REMINDER | CONCERT | Martin Philadelphy | Mar 19

THE

AUSTRIAN CULTURAL FORUM PRESENTS

CONCERT

THURSDAY MAR 19, 7:30 PM
MARTIN PHILADELPHY

Born in Tyrol, but "reborn to a second life" in 1992 when he bought his first guitar, Martin Philadelphy has participated in a number of experimental rock, jazz, and avantgarde projects. He has written music for cabaret, theater, and film, acted on stage and in films, and founded bands performing in a wide variety of styles (from progressive folk to electronic), including Philadelphy Experience, Pfhouu, PAINT, Philadelphy - Martinek, and 6to6 String Dezibel.

Martin Philadelphy will perform a solo show at the ACF, and then follow up with a PAINT improvisation. PAINT is first and foremost about communication, across borders, in the most direct way, completely ignoring the laws, rules and formulas that form the basis of communication in conventional Jazz improvisation jams. The project was founded by Martin Philadelphy in Autumn 2000, after a first contact with the free improvisation scene in NYC.

Philadelphy will play blues-rock-disco-improv-jazz with his guitar, loopstation and voice - it's bound to be a wild ride!
