Nolcha: Fashion Business Services continues to support the work of Amaka Showroom for the independent fashion market by selecting five British designers to show their latest AW10 collections alongside Amaka's newest designers. The event will also serve as the launch of 'Donate a Design' to HEAL Africa as led by Emesha and Bel Esprit.

Amaka is a multi-label showroom, based in Central London - showcasing some of the best of British and International independent designers.  The 19th Feb Showcase event will see collection debuts from;
·         Eva Evanovich Obsessive about textures and finish - the brands' aim is to create contemporary solutions in tailoring that exudes curiosity and sophistication for the Femme Fatale of today www.evaevanovich.com
·         Sado was launched by Italian designer Carlotta Gherzi in 2002, with the aspiration to launch a range of clothing that reflected the duality of the world and of the art of dress-making.  Male and female clothes - clothes for the progressive innovator and for conservative classics.  www.sadofashion.com
·         Maison DiPrima's mission is to integrate design innovation and the most classic and refined Italian tailoring traditions, aesthetics and comfort, architectural shapes and sinuous lines, simple-basic and complex- detailed garments, silky and light chiffon with important brocades. www.maisondiprima.com
·         Narciss was established in 2008 by Alise Trautmane who studied fashion at Central St Martins, London & Instituto Europeo di Design, Milan and launched her first prêt-a-porter collection in 2009.www.narciss.lv
·         Chantell Walters is analytical about proportion, form and colour - her clothes radiate confidence, power and individuality. Her debut collection was inspired by menswear, and science fiction films such as fifth element and the matrix. www.chantellwalters.co.uk
·         Nancy Van Ostren is an emerging London-based womenswear brand - focusing on strong tailoring, reflecting provocative shapes that are explorative in both cut and design. The conceptually androgynous designs are juxtaposed against feminine, timeless classics www.nancyvanostren.com

About HEAL Africa & the 'Donate a Design' T-shirt Contest:
HEAL Africa provides medical and surgical services to the victims of gender based violence suffered from the military conflict in the region, as well as treating obstetric fistula from complications in childbirth.  HEAL Africa has established a network of safe houses that offer support, shelter, and provide opportunities through educating, teaching skills like learning to sew and make bread or soap, and bringing other opportunities. HEAL Africa has a training framework that can be developed further into sustainable businesses.  With additional funding through micro loans and grants and industry support, this program has the potential to evolve into production cooperatives.  Bel Esprit is committed to supporting this growth through fund-raising and consulting.

To launch the Donate Design program, Bel Esprit will open a global t-shirt 'Donate a Design' contest at Nolcha Fashion Week: New York on February 11, 2010.  The theme of the contest is "for those who dream of a beautiful world," and is open to anyone who wishes to express their vision of a beautiful world in a t-shirt graphic.  The winning designs will be announced at a gala fund-raiser featuring a fashion show of Bel Esprit designers, and the designs will be produced for sale to benefit HEAL Africa's training program.
