Entrepreneurship in the Arts with Christophe W. Mao of Chambers Fine Arts
Monday, June 21, 6:30 pm

What does it mean to be a successful entrepreneur? What are the keys to becoming a successful entrepreneur? And, what is the relationship between successful entrepreneurship and the arts? Please join MOCA for a discussion by Christophe W. Mao, founder of the Chambers Fine Art galleries in Chelsea, New York and in Caochangdi, Beijing.
 Chris Mao
Christophe W. Mao was born in Wuhan, China in 1963 and came to the United States in 1986. In 2000, he opened Chambers Fine Art in the Chelsea district of New York, focusing on classical Chinese furniture and contemporary Chinese art. Since 2003, however, recognizing that the contemporary side of his activities demanded his full attention, the gallery has concentrated on contemporary Chinese art. In 2007, Chambers Fine Art opened premises designed by Ai Weiwei in the Caochangdi district of Beijing. Today, Mr. Mao travels frequently in China and elsewhere in Asia and is recognized as one of the leading authorities in this rapidly growing field.

Admission: $10; $7 student and senior; Free for MOCA member. RSVP to education@mocanyc.org.
