By the end of the year, more than 12 million children in America will worry about having the food they need.

The Problem

It invades our schools.

It preys on children.

It destroys families.

And it tears communities apart.

You can't see it by looking.

The victims are black, white, Asian and Hispanic.

You can't measure it in pounds.

It affects short and tall, thin and chubby.

You can't see it, but it lives next door.

The problem is hunger.

The Solution

Share Our Strength® is a national organization working to make sure that
no kid grows up hungry in America. By raising funds through programs like Share
Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale^®, Share Our Strength weaves
together a net of community groups, activists and food programs to catch every
at-risk child and surround them with nutritious food where they live, work
and play.

Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale helps raise funds for
organizations in communities across America to help provide at-risk children
with nutritious meals when they're needed most — during the summer,
and after school. Additionally, proceeds support Operation Frontline, a chef-led nutrition education program
for low-income children and families.

Since 2003, more than 1 million people have participated in Share Our Strength's
Great American Bake Sale, raising nearly $4 million to make sure no child in
America grows up hungry.

Poverty is complex; feeding a child is not. Everyone has a strength, and everyone
has something to share.

It's time to roll up our sleeves and put an end to childhood hunger.
