The McCollough Sons of Thunder and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble

Two of the most spirited groups around come together for this adventure into the heartbeat of hypnotic rhythm. Jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop take center stage with the exploding sounds of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, the Chicago-based group of eight horn-playing blood brothers. Then Harlem's own "Thunderbirds"—the country's premiere "shout band"—takes over in a performance of sheer exuberance that is certain to leave the audience on its feet shouting for more.

These events are part of the Carnegie Hall festival Honor! A Celebration of the African American Cultural Legacy, curated by Jessye Norman.
