Jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop take center stage with the exploding sounds of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, the Chicago-based group of eight horn-playing blood brothers. Then Harlem's own "Thunderbirds"—the country's premiere "shout band"—takes over in a performance of sheer exuberance that is certain to leave the audience on its feet shouting for more. These events are part of the Carnegie Hall festival Honor! A Celebration of the African American Cultural Legacy, curated by Jessye Norman.
