When Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu died in 1996, his compositional credits included hundreds of works for the concert hall and the soundtracks to some 93 films. Admired around the world for his musical talent, Takemitsu was also known for his ability to forge friendships with artists across disciplines and cultures. Peter Grilli, a longtime friend of the composer, offers this personal commentary.

Student Ticket Policy
Current student subscribers can purchase $10 student tickets by phone or online. To order online, student subscribers must sign in and enter code Student6800 before selecting seats. Non-student subscribers must buy $10 student tickets at the Box Office and must present a valid student photo ID. Student discount tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be discontinued at any time.

NEW! As a special benefit for our student subscribers, the $10 convenience fee has been reduced to only $1 per ticket. This reduced fee is only valid on $10 student tickets purchased online or through CarnegieCharge, and cannot be applied to student subscriptions. There is no convenience fee on $10 student tickets that are purchased in person at the Box Office.
