INVITATION | ACF CLUBNIGHT | JUN 18

THE

AUSTRIAN CULTURAL FORUM NEW YORK

AND

MEL MERIO

PRESENT

THURSDAY JUN 18, 11:00 PM
CLUBNIGHT
GROOVEHEADZ

The Power Ball - with performances by Heather Leigh West, Grooveheadz Orchestra, Mel Merio, The Fire and Reason, DJ Kevin Graves, and DJ Christopher Just.

A celebration of the dance music community's commitment to expanding the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include LGBT people.

Two years ago the members of the Grooveheadz Orchestra (www.grooveheadz.com) got together and invented the concept of Ethno-Groove to define themselves. Their lyrics are multilingual: Russian, Serbian, Roma and - of course - English. The Balkans meet Funk, Klezmer meets Rock. But really, East and West meet the rest of the World. The Grooveheadz Orchestra makes you feel good, gets the heart dancing and the soul swinging.

$5 minimum donation at the door.

ACF RECOMMENDS

THROUGH SATURDAY JUL 11
EXHIBITION
THE POET, APOCALYPSO and I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE
FLORIAN SCHMEISER AND SUSANNE SCHUDA

The work of Austrian media artists Susanne Schuda and Florian Schmeiser relates to the present discussion about racism in Europe, which is now imbued with an additional involuntary currency due to the gains made by right-wing parties in the recent EU-elections. Their multimedia-installations explore love and hate, self-hatred and fascism.
